He was despised and forsaken of men, 

A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.  (Isaiah 53:3)

Christ was a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief.  Isa 53:3     (See below or see all of Isaiah 53)

His appearance would be marred more than any man.  Isa 52:13-15

Daniel prophesied that the Messiah would be cut off, but not for Himself.   Dan 9:24-27

Zechariah prophesied that the Messiah would be lowly and would have salvation.  Also, His dominion would be from sea to sea.  Zec 9:9-10    (This verse was quoted in the New Testament. Matt 21:1-5)

The Messiah would suffer and be rejected.  Psalm 118:22-23 (This verse, quoted in the New Testament. Acts 4:10-12 1 Pet 2:6-8)

In the midst of being physically abused, the Messiah would know that God would help Him and that He would not be disgraced or ashamed.  Isa 50:5-7

Despite His suffering, He would not be disheartened or crushed as He faithfully brought forth justice.  Isa 42:1-4 (This verse was quoted this verse in Matt 12)

His demeanor would be characterized as quiet and gentle.  Isa 42:1-4   (He quoted this verse in Matt 12)

Despite being despised by man and abhorred by nations, His faithfulness would ultimately cause all powerful men to worship.  Isa 49:6-7

In the midst of being physically abused, He would not be rebellious and did not turn away.  Isa 50:5-7

Without turning away, He would give Himself to being hit, spit upon, and having his beard plucked.  He would not hide His face from shame.   Isa 50:5-7

God said we should be holy because He is holy.  Lev 11:44-45

The Messiah's footsteps will be our pathway.  Psalm 85:12-13

Man despises Him and nations abhor Him.  Isa 49:6-7

Possible prophesy of His suffering and crucifixion.  Psalm 22:14-18

 

ISAIAH 53 

He had no stately form or majesty that people would be attracted to Him.  Isa 53:2    (See all of Isaiah 53)

He bore our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed Him stricken.  Isa 53:4  (See all of Isaiah 53)

When He was oppressed and afflicted, He did not open His mouth.    Isa 53:7    (See all of Isaiah 53)

In addition, no one around understood Him.  They did not know what a loving, sacrificial and great thing He was doing.   Isa 53:8   (See all of Isaiah 53)

It pleased God to bruise He because He when he became a guilt offering, God's future plan would be fulfilled.  Isa 53:10-11  (See all of Isaiah 53)

He would see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.   Isa 53:10-11  (See all of Isaiah 53)

AHe bore the sins and justified many.  Isa 53:11-12  (See all of Isaiah 53)

He will be rewarded because He poured out Himself to death.  Isa 53:12  (See all of Isaiah 53)
